The T-SPOT®.TB test is a single-visit blood test use to screen for tuberculosis (TB) infection. Also known as an interferon gamma release assay (IGRA), it uses Oxford Immunotec’s unique ELISpot technology to ensure the highest accuracy across patient groups. The T-SPOT.TB test is the only TB test with specificity of 98.8% and sensitivity exceeding 99%1, and does not cross react with the BCG vaccine.
The T-SPOT.TB test is also less affected by immunosuppression than other TB tests2,3 so is the perfect choice for those living with HIV, or to screen for TB prior to initiation of Biologic treatments.
IGRAs, such as the T-SPOT.TB test have been recommended for use in clinical guidelines for TB testing in over 30 countries worldwide, including the World Health Organization’s List of Essential In Vitro Diagnostics4.
